Digital Conversion Services

Genesis designs process automation, integrate data systems, automate Ebook conversions and provide platforms for data storage and information sharing. The Digital Conversion Services cover fixed-layout ePub, fixed-layout KF8, interactive ePub 3.0 and KF8, ONIX metadata tagging services, content porting, Smart PDFs, LINK PDFs, Universal PDF creation, and proofreading.

Handling high-volume conversion projects, including front end to legacy conversions is made simple and accurate through our use of custom developed workflows and solutions. Our conversion projects include coding in HTML, SGML, XML from hard-copy or soft-copy inputs. Our File Management System allows the client to track the project status. We inject XML (Project Planning and Maintenance) signal from client XML or Typesetting Instruction in our workflow. Our FMS automatically accepts the XML, e-mail, FTP or Hard drives.

Our FMS will automatically send e-mail to client, chase the author/editor for revised proof, chase the author/editor for any queries, ... Our FMS server will automatically upload files back to client's FTP

Editing Tool

Genesis Editing Tool (GET) has proven to be a great tool which works hand-in-hand with Microsoft Word® and MathType® to accomplish editing and XML process. GET really hits the mark in facilitating the tasks needed to convert the document which is fed as a word file to produce XML (eXtended Markup Language) file.

It is a powerful and easy-to-use editing tool that satisfies the needs of many users who lacks the prerequisite technical knowledge of XML which perhaps enables the production team to use the resources effectively.

This tool is specially designed to offer the new capabilities for pre-editing, book/journal styling, copyediting and XML conversion of any complex files from any document into XML.

GET tool automatically identifies the reference patterns and applies sub elements to each reference style using the delimiters.

Depending on the requirement, GET tool is beneficial in sorting the references, convert author provided reference to APA/Chicago/MLA … reference style.

GET tool provides an extensible solution to save journal/book style specific information in our database and retrieves whenever it is required.

Our tool is dynamic in customizing the new ways to manage all possible cross-link citations such as figure, table, equation, reference etc.

Validation of a GET tool is a combined activity that includes review and reporting. We validate the content according to client requirements which leads in the best practice of providing client specific reports using Schematron rules, Schema, XSLT, Xpath, Perl and .Net. Composition Server

Our Genesis CompServer has been uniquely positioned to automatically generate proof pages from the finished XML file using InDesign/3B2/LaTeX/Quark/Pagemaker/Framemaker/Microsoft Word.

Effectively loads the XML from the server, places floats like tables, graphics, box, footnote near to the citation. Our Genesis CompServer will automatically import and export the XML file without any data loss with 100% accuracy always. Our Workflow management system plays a key role to process any file without any error. Genesis CompServer will import metadata information from our Workflow management system which is a centralized database that helps to retrieve/update the data to get the accurate output. We parse the XML file in each and every stage of the process and check the journal/book style of each project, processed by us automatically.

Validator

Genesis Validation is a sophisticated way of comparing a document instance against a template or specification. It validates the XML file against the client Document Type Declaration (DTD), Schema, Schematron, XSLT, Perl rules and checks whether the document is valid or not. This process is embedded in our workflow to crosscheck the XML file that goes out from each task and check for journal/book style of each project automatically. This tool generates report in HTML format. Validation warning/error can be skipped using our internal check identifier, if required.

This tool generates XML to HTML WYSIWYG output view to cross check against the PDF. Dataset and Final requirement (convert the eps, tiff images to low resolution gif/jpg/tiff format; also convert the latex equation to images automatically) is achieved using this tool automatically.
